hélène de crécy

Director, scriptwriter

After having studied modern literature and philosophy, painting and theatre, Hélène de Crécy received a diploma in Sexology and Public Health.  She also pursued studies in writing and in cinematography. 

In 2001, she realized her first documentary, Desire for Love (Désirs d?amour), and her first short film, The Giraffe (La Girafe). 

 

In 2004, she wrote and directed the documentary Men?s Secrets (Secrets d?hommes). 

 

In 2007, her first feature documentary, The Consultation (La consultation), appeared in theaters.  It was selected for, amongst others, the festivals in La Rochelle and Locarno, and it obtained the ?Prix du public? and jury mention at the festival of Oullins.  The Consultation was also shown on TV (Canal plus, France 2 and Arte). 

 

In 2008, she shared her experience as a filmmaker with students in sociology at the University of Evry, where she accompanied them from their conception to the conclusion of their projects. 

 

In 2010, after the filming of ?Escort?, a new 90 minutes documentary, she obtained the prestigious Villa Kujoyama prize, where she stayed 6 months and wrote and directed the film Genesis entirely filmed in improvisation with Japanese actors.

 

Presently, she is writing a screenplay for a feature fiction film, ?Compulsion? (Passage à l?acte).  

2005 : Long feature documentary : LA CONSULTATION, obtaining the advance on receipts from the National Center of Cinematography. 2006 - 2007 : Selected at La Rochelle and Locarnos's Film Festivals and international festivals. Award and Mention of the Jury at Oullin's festival.

2004 : Documentary (52 minutes) : SECRETS D'HOMMES, LA VIE OU LA PROSTATE, les films du Bouloir. Diffusion on TV Channel France 3, october 2004.

2002 : Documentary (52 minutes) : RE-ENCHANTER LA NAISSANCE. Short feature film (18 minutes) : LA GIRAFE.

2001 : Documentary (52 minutes) : DESIRS D'AMOUR for the TV channel La Cinquième about the theme "physical handicap and sexuality". Diffusion : september 2001. 1st price at the Moscow International Film Festival 2003 ; 1st TV price in Avança, Portugal, 2003 ; Special Jury Price at the Aurillac's Health Film Festival, 2003.

2000 : Release of short stories published by La Fnac and the General Council of Essonne within the framework of Les Nouvelles Lauréates de Palaiseau.

1995 : 1st Assistant Director for the short feature UNE PLACE AU SOLEIL (18', 35mm), by Olivier Deplas . Short feature UN ARBRE FOU D'OISEAUX (50', 35mm), by Marcel Hanoun, film du kiosque, self produced.
