Marcia Romano was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 1979, she came to France. After studying cinema at Paris 8 University, then at the Femis (screenwriting department), she wrote in 1996 "Plaidoyer pour un boxeur" ("Plea for a Boxer"): the radio version was played on France Culture, and the theater play was presented at the Ferme du Buisson.

Over the past ten years, Marcia Romano has collaborated on the writing of several projects for François Ozon, Xavier Giannoli, Emmanuel Bourdieu, Eric Rochant, Alfredo Arias, and Emmanuelle Bercot.

In 2010, she directed the documentary Tant qu'il y aura de la poussière ("Until Dust Do Us Part"), with Andres Jarach. "Quand j'étais Gothique" (When I Was A Goth") is her first fiction.
